Hello working on Backpack 1 and I am in the Labor section where i need to add a row filter i have done that but it is grayed out and i cannot do the dropdowns and put yes
I see it now.
You are viewing the Labor model. You cannot change an allocation when viewing the object that is receiving dollars.
You need to go to the Cost Source model in the Project Explorer pane of you screen. Check ou the Cost Source model and then when you click the Labor allocation you can change it there.
You must define an allocation for the object that is sending the dollars (cost source) not the object the is receiving the dollars (labor).
Have you checked out the model for the sending object?
In other words, you must check out the Cost Source model, click on the allocation line or labor object and you should be able to edit the allocation.
IF you are viewing the labor object, you can SEE the allocation but even if you check it out, you will not be able to edit it from the receiving object model view.
Hello here is a pic of my screen and it shows checked out. Please advise thanks

I do not see a screen shot. Can you send me a link to your project?
I have checked out the Cost Source model object for you. Click on the Cost Source object on the left as circled in green below. then Click Labor on the right and you should be able to edit the allocation.
If you're not clear on how that is different, I'll be hosting a Lab Assist in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Join me and we'll go through it together.

Ok wonderful thank you. But one more quick question and I will see you in an hour. What is the definition of when to add the “Date Partition” and how to know when to add it. I am working on the Fixed assets and it states if necessary. Thank you again for all your help in this matter.
Ok thanks should I check in the Labor then first??
No you don't need to check in labor. you can keep many things checked out while working on them. the reason for checking in objects is to putthem into the staging project. You do not have to check in labor to be able to work with Cost Source.
